Kids Hope USA builds caring relationships…one child, one hour, one church, one school. In July 2007, High Street United Methodist Church of Springfield Ohio, entered into an agreement with Kids Hope USA to partner with Lagonda Elementary School. This partnership enables us to provide mentors to the students who need one-on-one time with a caring adult. We are able to encourage and give HOPE to children who may be struggling with academics, social skills, peer relationships or lack of self confidence. During the weekly mentoring hour many things can take place. We may play games, draw pictures, read books, work on math skills, take a walk or do a craft. The constant in these activities is the mentor sharing with the student one-on-one.
