There are sign-up sheets at High Street UMC for various duties at the store on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday if you want to volunteer. Please sign-up for what you would like to do. The Open Hands Free Store was organized in 2008 as a cooperative effort of several Springfield area United Methodist Churches. The mission on the Open Hands Free Store is to support the material and spiritual needs of people in the Springfield and Clark County area. We take seriously Christ’s call to feed the hungry and clothe the needy. We also try to embody the freely given grace of God to all of God’s children. That is why we developed this ministry where anyone in need can receive food, clothing, and small household items–ALL AT NO COST TO THEM.
During these uncertain times, the Open Hands Free Store is no longer accepting donations of any kind. Open Hands Free Store is open on Thursday’s to hand out food boxes provided by Second Harvest Food Bank. |
